What Counts as Yard Waste?
The Lincoln landfill defines yard waste as grass clippings and leaves only. If you have other organic waste, here’s how it should be handled:

- Flowers and garden waste

- Branches (must be 3-4 feet in length and bundled with rope, twine, or duct tape)
How to Prepare Yard Waste for Pickup
To meet Lincoln Municipal Code 8.32, yard waste must be placed in:
• A 32-gallon container with two handles and a lid (larger cans are not allowed)
• Approved yard waste bags
